April Torch has its share of frustration and joy. We had some sound and power issues. I work pretty hard on not disrupting the flow of the event. For example, I do everything possible to not change or move equipment. Any downtime typically results in losing some of the immediate crowd and of course we want to avoid that. We had some issues with the power strip but were able to get that resolved as the night went along. We were using a different mixer than normal and did not have as long to soundcheck. This caused me to miss a key issue in not having the master turned up correctly and causing some issues with the sound dropping out.
Despite these issues, we still had a great night of Drum & Bass! Dtek started off the night with a mix of cds and vinyl. I have not seen him play in a while and his skills are still sharp! Moneyman played a set of all vinyl and went pretty dark on the tunes! Chris Skylink played some more minimal and jungle type tracks in fine fashion! Mad Dabber dropped a set of 3-4 deck mixing, rinsing out some classic tunes of the last 2 years + some of the newer dance floor tunes out today! Nano from the 180 Degrees crew dropped a flawless set of powerful neurofunk and it was good to have him back out again!
Next Torch is 5/15 and we will have our 4 YEAR ANNIVERSARY on 6/12!
