Well I sort of spaced on writing the review for the May 2015 show. Here it is, better late than never! For this month, we held Torch in Hell. Its a bigger room and massive sound system. Sometimes its hard to capture that intimate vibe in such a space, but we did for this show! Oscillator was not able to make it so we had Johnny GoodTime fill in. He is the alter ego of one of my best friends and has been putting in a lot of work in the dj game. Zach aka Johnny GoodTime started us off in fine fashion. He is a fan of the synth driven, 8 bit sound of the Prototypes and put that on display in the opening set. He was also kind enough to lend us his gear for the event! Next up we had a new force making waves in the ATL DNB scene, High Kalliber! Kallan really brought the rukus with some slick mixing and also cue'ing up some of the Prototypes new beats.
Thomas B never ceases to amaze me when he is behind the decks. He was going 100 mph and I dont think he saw a rebreak the entire set! A well crafted set and full of trademark high energy Drum & Bass! Casper smashed it next, playing on Serato DJ via the club kit. This is a new feature from Serato Dj and is pretty slick. Starting with that new Prototypes smasher, Pop it off, he kept the vibe going! Next up was me, Thesis, lol! I was really happy with my set and enjoyed smashing some power liquid, old school tunes and aggressive DNB. Johnny GoodTime tagged with me the last half to shut the place down! He was amp'ing up alongside Arion Lee who dropped in to rinse some rhymes. Chuck Skillz said he was bring the pressure and thats high praise for a young DJ. Big up Zach!
Overall it was a great night and great vibe in the bigger room for Torch! The sound was on point and we had a great time. See everyone next month for the 4 YEAR TORCH ANNIVERSARY!
